Shetland Trip Update

I spoke to Will this evening, their journey to Aberdeen went well, having stayed overnight on Wednesday at Perth and Will phoned from the ship to say that they had set sail two hours previously and that they were settled on board and enjoying a pleasant evening meal. How the mobile phones work when you are two hours from port is a bit of a mystery to me, but that's the wonder of modern technology! Peter the bus is performing well and tomorrow it will be unloaded at Lerwick and be driving around Shetland, apparently few double deck vehicles have ever been used on the island so it will probably cause a fair amount of interest. The party (and the bus) will be attending the bi-annual Classic Vehicle Show.

  1. Spoke to them tonight, the bus is causing quite a stir on the island! Apparently it's a page 3 model in the Shetland Gazette...
One kid thought it was the Harry Potter bus and lots of folks have been rushing out of their houses to take photos. Mum and Dad enjoying it lots.
    Meanwhile
Us at the fort have lots of jobs on this weekend. I'm in Kendal tomorrow and going up Tailbrig on Sunday (1 in 5, 20%).
    love to all

  3. To Alison and family (I don't know all your names) but I just want to thank you for the great day out we had to Barnard Castle on Peter the bus, you were all so kind and helpful that my Husband and I will certainly be coming again and we would recommend you to anyone for going the extra mile especially your help with the mobility scooter which saved my Husband from having to struggle.
